Dance Shoes

Shoes are available for purchase through SPDS, this will ensure you are getting the correct shoe for your class and a proper fit.  Any student participating in our annual recitals must have the proper shoe style and color. Shoe orders are placed often and we can usually get them by your dancers’ next class.  In order to return or exchange shoes, they cannot be worn – meaning no scuffs, scratches, or marks of any kind and must be in their original box.  Special order shoes may not be returned.

Enrollment Details

A student is responsible for their entire monthly tuition regardless of how many classes are missed.   No refunds will be given for missed classes.

Monthly tuition includes up to 2 weather related cancellations for the season.  If more than 2 lessons are cancelled, make-up classes will be scheduled.

When registering for classes at the start of each dance session, your first month’s tuition and registration fee are due.  This will ensure your enrollment in a particular class.

Refund/Withdrawal Policy

Tuition is non-refundable. Costume fees are nonrefundable after costumes have been ordered. Recital fees are non-refundable. Private lesson fees are still owed if cancelled within 24-hours of scheduled lesson unless the spot is filled by someone else.

To withdraw from a class, please notify the office as soon as possible. We will email a withdrawal form and this must be sent back to stop tuition from being charged.

Tuition and Fees

Monthly tuition is due the first week of each month. Tuition is based on the number of weeks in the total session, therefore monthly tuition is the same each month regardless of how many weeks are in the month.

There is a $20.00 registration fee per student per dance season.

Costumes

There will be a costume fee for dancers who register for our Spring session, this will be due February 1st. Once the costumes are ordered we are unable to give you a refund. For our Fall session there will be a t-shirt fee. Dancers will wear this shirt for the show, they may choose to embellish it how they like and the rest of the costume will be up to you and your dancer to go along with the theme of the show.

Competitive dancers’ costumes are custom made by Sew Unique Dance Costumes, LLC.

Inclement Weather Policy

The studio follows the School District for procedures and closings. Notifications of weather cancellations will be emailed, posted on our social media accounts, and announced on the studio’s website. No refunds will be given for weather cancellations. In the instance that a class has experienced 3 or more weather cancellations, we will do our best to provide a makeup day.

Code of Conduct

Students are expected to show respect to instructors and peers at all times. This includes listening attentively, following instructions, and maintaining a positive attitude. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary actions. Parents should support a positive environment by encouraging their child and respecting the studio policies. Any concerns or issues should be addressed privately with studio staff/directors.

Health and Safety Guidelines

Students should stay home if they are feeling unwell, especially if they have symptoms of contagious illnesses. Please inform the studio if your child will be absent due to illness. Please let us know if your child is injured so we can properly help them during class with modifications.

Recitals

Spotlight Productions holds 2 shows per year.

Our first show is our Winter show which showcases our recreational classes from our Fall/Winter session. This is a themed short performance where family members can enjoy watching their dancers before the holiday break!

Our second show is our Spring Recital. This show is held at the Ames Center in Burnsville. Our recreational dancers from our Spring session will perform along with our competitive teams. Dancers will get on the big stage in costumes to showcase their skills with full stage lighting in a more formal theater setting.
